Legal action to be taken over attack on actress Badhon: Adviser Zahed

Prime Minister’s Information and Broadcasting Adviser Dr Zahed Ur Rahman has said legal action will be taken against those involved in the attack on actress Azmeri Haque Badhon.
He said the process of taking legal action over the incident has already begun.
“We have started the process of taking legal action in this matter. We are prepared. If this happens to anyone, we will not spare them,” he said while responding to journalists’ questions at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Referring to the Awami League, Dr Zahed said he did not consider it a political party, describing it as a “mafia gang”.
He said the process of taking legal action over the incident has already begun.

Speaking about the incident, Zahed said they had seen videos of the attack and claimed that those involved had also recorded and published videos of the incident.
He said attacks by Awami League activists on Bangladeshis living abroad had occurred before and were continuing.
Referring to the Awami League, Dr Zahed said he did not consider it a political party, describing it as a “mafia gang”.
He said the attack on Badhon had once again raised the question of whether the Awami League should be treated as a political party and allowed to conduct politics in the country.
Addressing Badhon, he said being subjected to harassment by the Awami League was “a kind of achievement and honour” for her, as it showed that she had been on the right path.
