Police recovered the bodies of two unidentified men from separate locations in the capital’s National Eidgah and Supreme Court areas on Saturday.

The men were aged about 65 and 45.

One body was recovered from the footpath on the northern side of the main gate of the National Eidgah at around 12pm, while the other was found opposite the Education Building, adjacent to the Supreme Court, around 12:30pm.

Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector Toufiq Hasan said police recovered the two bodies from the respective locations.

“After completing the legal procedures, the bodies were sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy,” he said.

The SI said locals told police that both men appeared to be homeless and had been staying in the respective areas.

Their identities have not yet been established.

“Efforts are underway to identify them. We have informed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Their identities are expected to be established with the help of technology,” he added.
