Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has strongly condemned the display of Muhammad Ali Jinnah's photograph at the Dhaka University Central Students' Union museum.

In a press release signed by Office Secretary Md Jahangir Alam on Monday (September 14), the student organisation demanded the immediate removal of the photograph.

JCD leaders stated that displaying the image of Jinnah - who declared Urdu as the sole state language of Pakistan at the Racecourse Maidan on March 21, 1948 - insults the heritage of Bangladesh's Language Movement and Independence War.

The statement criticized the current DUCSU leadership, alleging they have failed to resolve student housing shortages or maintain an academic environment. JCD accused the council of serving specific party agendas and acting as an instrument for ideology rather than student welfare.

JCD President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir stated that displaying Jinnah's picture reflects a covert affection for defeated forces of 1971. They warned that student bodies would unite to resist any attempts to distort the history of Dhaka University, including past attempts to rename Madhur Canteen.
