BCB's Level One coaching course opens new pathways for 1st class cricketers

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has launched a six-day Level One Coaching Course as they are keen to set a platform for the first class cricketers to enhance their cricket knowledge while preparing for future roles in the game.

The course began last Saturday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, with 32 participants taking part. Organized by the BCB's Game Development Department, the programme features sessions conducted by national team coaches Mohammad Salahuddin, Sohel Islam and Navid Newaz. 

Among the participants are former Bangladesh international cricketers Arafat Sunny, Mahmudullah Riyad, Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Fazle Rabbi. Former Test cricketer Kamrul Islam Rabbi said the course would be highly beneficial and help him build a stronger understanding of the game.

Explaining his decision to join the programme, Rabbi said learning cricket fundamentals are imperative.

"The main reason behind taking this course is to gain more knowledge. Level One creates a strong foundation for cricket and understanding the basics of the game is extremely important," he added.

The course curriculum covers a range of topics, including biomechanics, practice and programme planning, skill acquisition, team planning, player technique evaluation and methods for correcting technical flaws.

 The BCB has also arranged Level Two and Level Three coaching courses this year as part of its continued development programme. A total of 32 participants completed the Level Two course held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium from July 15 to 20 under the guidance of ICC Level Three Master Educator and former Nepal cricketer Binod Kumar Das.    �"BSS
