A day-long training workshop for Butthan practitioners and instructors was held in Rajshahi on Saturday, bringing together representatives from different districts to improve technical skills and promote uniform standards in the Bangladesh-originated martial art.

The workshop was held at Evening Hall in Rajshahi under the supervision of Grandmaster Siddhacharya Yuree Vajramunee, known as "The Superhuman" following his appearance on the Discovery Channel.

The training sessions were conducted by Butthan instructors Abul Kalam Azad, a fifth-degree black belt, Solmon Green, a third-degree black belt, and Shavin, a second-degree black belt.

Participants received practical and theoretical instruction throughout the day, covering core Butthan techniques, Vajrapran exercises and the philosophy behind the discipline. They were also introduced to the rules and standards contained in the Diamond Rule Book and regulations governing Butthan Co-Competition.

The organisers said the programme was designed not only to improve physical and technical abilities but also to strengthen the quality of instruction and deepen practitioners' understanding of the principles associated with Butthan.

Particular attention was given to self-defence, physical fitness, discipline and ethical conduct, as well as the controlled use of strength. The Co-Competition sessions focused on developing competitive skills while maintaining safety, mutual respect and discipline.

The workshop was part of a broader initiative to develop qualified instructors and establish consistent training standards across the country. Organisers said regular training programmes of this kind would help expand organised Butthan activities in different regions of Bangladesh.

The association is also working to promote Butthan internationally and increase awareness of the martial art and combat sport, which originated in Bangladesh.
