Man held with two one-shooter, cartridges in Rajbari

The Special Response Battalion (SRB)-10 has detained a man with two locally made one-shooter guns, two live cartridges and 10 cocktail-like objects in Goalanda of Rajbari.

The detainee was identified as Islam Sek, alias Akash, 41, son of Ershad Sek of Bholai Matbor Para in the upazila.

Tapan Sarker, assistant director (media) of SRB-10 Faridpur Company, confirmed the matter in a press release issued on Thursday evening (September 17).

According to the press release, a team of SRB-10 Faridpur Camp conducted a raid in the South Uzanchar area under Goalanda Ghat Police Station at around 10:35am on Thursday based on a tip-off.

During the operation, the team recovered two locally made one-shooter guns, two live cartridges and 10 cocktail-like objects.

Tapan Sarker said two arms cases and an extortion case have already been filed against Islam Sek alias Akash.

The detainee is being handed over to the concerned police station for legal action, the press release said.

SRB said it remains committed to maintaining law and order and bringing criminals under the law.
