Rejected by court, Rizwan runs to ICC

Pakistan wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan has gone to ICC Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) for help after Lahore High Court threw out his petition.

Rizwan contacted ICC through online portal on Thursday (September 17). He asked if ICC or England Cricket Board (ECB) knew about seizure of his mobile phone by Pakistan's National Cyber Crime Agency (NCCIA).

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Aalia Neelum on Thursday dismissed his petition challenging NCCIA notices. She told him: "You should go and respond to notice."

What happened: After Pakistan's 194-run loss to England at Lord's, Rizwan was called to hotel lobby at 1 AM. His phone was taken. He was told it would return in 3 hours. It never came back.

Rizwan's lawyer said allegations are false. Phone taken without formal notice. NCCIA did not say which betting activity he is linked to.

NCCIA is probing online betting and dressing-room leaks during Pakistan's 3-0 Test loss to England in England. Imam-ul-Haq also under probe. Both phones under forensic check. Report will go to PCB next week.

Rizwan says ICC ACU is right forum for corruption cases, not cyber agency. He sought clarity if procedure followed ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
