The price of gold jewellery has increased in Bangladesh, with the price of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 1,691 per bhori (11.664 grams).
Following the latest hike, the price of one bhori of 22-carat gold jewellery has been set at Tk 234,621, including VAT.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said the new price came into effect at 10am on Saturday (September 19).
The price was increased following a rise in the price of locally sourced Tezabi gold, according to BAJUS.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Saturday.
Later, a notification signed by committee chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen announced the revised price.
