Five people died from measles and measles-like symptoms across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest deaths, the nationwide toll from measles and suspected measles cases has reached 1,053 since March 15, according to the DGHS’s latest regular measles surveillance report released on Saturday.
The report also said 1,020 new cases of measles and measles-like symptoms were recorded across the country during the same 24-hour period.
Health authorities are continuing to monitor the situation as measles and suspected cases remain a public health concern across the country.
