Fire Breaks Out in Train at Kamalapur, Coach Burned

A fire broke out in a coach of a passenger train standing at Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital on Sunday. After receiving the report, two units of the Fire Service rushed to the scene and began working to bring the fire under control.


The incident occurred at around 9:30 PM on Sunday (September 20) at Platform No. 2 of the station.


Eyewitnesses said a coach of a passenger train standing on the platform suddenly caught fire. It is initially suspected that miscreants set fire to the coach.


Mohammad Shahjahan, duty officer at the Fire Service Headquarters, said that someone had set fire to the coach standing at Platform No. 2. He said further details would be provided later.


On the spot, the burning coach was seen engulfed in flames beside other coaches on the platform. The area was covered in smoke, causing panic among passengers and people nearby. The fire also appeared to be spreading to an adjacent coach.


After receiving the news, GRP police, members of security forces and personnel from various intelligence agencies arrived at the scene and began working.
