A Dhaka court on Sunday sent 24 accused to jail after they completed a 10-day remand in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over a procession chanting “Joy Bangla” and two crude bomb blasts in Gulshan.
The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jewel Rana also rejected bail petitions filed by 15 of the accused. Gulshan Police Station Sub-Inspector Ruhul Amin, the investigation officer, produced the accused before the court after completion of their remand and sought their detention in jail. After hearing both sides, the court passed the order.
The accused include A Rahim, Jahangir Hossain, Alamgir Hossain, Sabbir Hossain, Kamrul Hasan (Alam), Munna Mia, Samin Yasir (Sadaf), Ratul, HM Zakaria Rahman Oman, Minhajul Islam Fahad, Sohel Ahmed, Sohorab, Hazrat Ali, Azharul Islam Masud, Chan Mia, Habib Sikder, Zahir Hossain, Mehedi Hasan, Kabir Bhandari, Babul Gop, Farid Ahmed, Indranil Deb Sharma, Nazrul Islam and Masud Hasan Shamim.
