Two killed as train hits easy-bike in Jashore

Two people were killed after a train hit an easy-bike at the Chawlia railway crossing in Jashore on Saturday morning.

One of the deceased was identified as Monowara Begum, wife of Abdul Wahab of Baladanga Kajipur village in Jashore Sadar upazila.

Witnesses said the Rupsha Express, travelling from Khulna to Saidpur, reached Chawlia around 10am when the easy-bike was crossing the railway line. The train hit the vehicle, seriously injuring Monowara. She died on the way to hospital.

GRP police recovered the bodies and sent them to Jashore 250-bed General Hospital for autopsy.
