Prof Nurul Islam new JU VC

Professor Dr Md Nurul Islam of Jahangirnagar University’s (JU) Geography and Enviro-nment Department has been appointed the university’s vice chancellor (VC).

He currently serves as the VC of Dhaka Central Uni-versity.

The Ministry of Education’s Secondary and Higher Education Division issued a gazette notification on Saturday morning, signed by Assistant Secretary Md Sultan Ahmed, approving the appointment by the President and Chancellor of JU.

According to the notification, the authorities relieved Prof Nurul Islam from his post as VC of Dhaka Central University. He has been appointed JU VC under Section 11(1) of the Jahangirnagar University Order, 1973.
