Bangkok flooding disrupts travel, airports remain operational

Heavy rain and flooding in Bangkok have disrupted road travel and caused delays for passengers heading to the city’s two main airports, although both Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports remain operational.

On Saturday (September 26), Thailand’s authorities advised travellers to allow extra time to reach the airports as flooding and traffic congestion affected several routes across the capital.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand urged passengers to check flight status with their airlines and monitor road conditions before travelling.

Thailand’s Meteorological Department warned of heavy to very heavy rain in Bangkok and other parts of the country through September 27, with the possibility of flash floods and water accumulation.
