A delegation led by Essa Kazim, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DP World, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Thursday (October 8) evening.
The meeting centered on expanding trade and investment between Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates, modernizing port management, and improving the domestic logistics sector, alongside other issues of mutual interest.
Discussions also highlighted the 15-year concession agreement signed between Bangladesh and DP World for the operation and modernization of the Chittagong Container Terminal.
Under the terms of the agreement, DP World will manage and maintain the container terminal along with its overflow container yard. The partnership is expected to play a critical role in upgrading terminal facilities, driving operational efficiency, and expanding port infrastructure capacity.
