Couple among 4 burnt in N’ganj gas cylinder blast

Four people, including a couple, suffered severe burn injuries in an explosion caused by a gas leak at a house in Kachpur, Narayanganj, early Sunday.

The injured are Md Sharif, 34, his wife Rozina, 30, her brother Riaz, 22, and Md Roni, 19. All four are in critical condition.

The incident occurred at around 1:30AM on Sunday. They were rescued and taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery for treatment.

Dr Sultan Mahmud Sikder, a resident physician at the institute, confirmed the incident.

He said Rozina suffered burns to 60 per cent of her body, Sharif 40 per cent, Riaz 40 per cent and Roni sustained burns to 70 per cent.

According to Dr Sultan Mahmud, the four were burnt in a fire caused by a gas leak. They are all relatives, and their conditions remain critical.
