2027 public holiday list published

The government has announced the list of public holidays for 2027 through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Thursday (November 5).

According to the notification, there will be 29 public holidays, including 14 general holidays and 15 holidays under executive orders. However, seven of these holidays fall on Fridays and Saturdays, leaving government employees with 22 effective days off.

The notification said the holidays will be observed at all government and semi-government offices, as well as statutory, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies across Bangladesh.

Earlier, the Cabinet approved the holiday list at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Secretariat on Monday (November 2).
