Police have recovered a German tourist’s stolen laptop in Natore, five days after his bag was stolen at Natore Railway Station. A student and his father have been detained for questioning, while the missing camera remains unrecovered.

The laptop belonging to German tourist Krill Lander was recovered from a clothing store in Natore town around 9:30PM on Sunday (October 11), Superintendent of Police Mohammad Shariful Haque said.

The student, Antor Kumar Saha, claimed his father, Amal Kumar Saha, found the laptop under a seat on the Titumir Express train on October 8 and later took it to Naogaon. Police traced the device after it was switched on and recovered it.

Police are investigating the pair’s involvement and searching for the person captured carrying away Lander’s bag in CCTV footage.

Lander’s bag went missing on October 7 after a man allegedly posing as a railway employee took it while the tourist went to withdraw money from an ATM. The bag contained a laptop, a camera and other valuables.

Meanwhile, a private company official gifted Lander a MacBook on Saturday (October 10).
