9 more die of dengue, 1,954 hospitalised 

Nine people have died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,954 patients have been hospitalised.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the figures in a dengue-related press release on Tuesday.

Of the newly hospitalised patients, 196 are from Barishal division, 318 from Chattogram, 465 from areas outside the Dhaka city corporations, 189 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 191 from Dhaka South City Corporation, 230 from Khulna, 97 from Mymensingh, 184 from Rajshahi, 71 from Rangpur and 13 from Sylhet.

According to the DGHS, a total of 103,396 dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country up to October 13 this year.

With the latest nine deaths, the number of dengue deaths this year has risen to 316.
