Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inspected footpaths cleared of illegal occupation in Mirpur-10 in the capital on Saturday, speaking directly with pedestrians and instructing officials to ensure smooth and convenient movement.
The Prime Minister visited the area on the morning of October 17, according to his Press Secretary AKM Nazmul Haque.
During the visit, Tarique Rahman asked pedestrians whether removing hawkers from the footpaths had made walking easier and whether they were facing any difficulties while moving around the area. He also sought their views on problems related to the city's footpaths and road management.
The Prime Minister listened to people's experiences and opinions and directed the relevant authorities to take necessary measures to keep footpaths accessible to pedestrians, maintain order on roads and footpaths, and remove obstacles to public movement.
He said footpaths in the city were primarily meant for pedestrians and stressed the need to keep them free from illegal occupation to ensure safe and uninterrupted movement.
