They landed at 12:10 PM on Thai Airways flight TG-321 on October 20.

The 30 Bangladeshis had been held at Cambodia’s immigration detention centre. The Wage Earners’ Welfare Board, under the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, had written to the labour wing of the Bangladesh Embassy in Bangkok seeking assistance to secure their release and arrange their repatriation.
The Bangladeshis had travelled to Cambodia in search of jobs but became trapped in various scam centres. They later registered to return home after the Cambodian government offered an opportunity to leave the country without paying fines.
Accordingly, they arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport on September 3. However, immigration police detained 32 people during checks over their irregular immigration status and other complications. Two were subsequently released, while the remaining 30 were held at the country’s immigration detention centre.
