AR Rahman’s music for the ‘Ravana Tandav’ sequence in 'Ramayana' has sparked mixed reactions online, with viewers praising Yash’s performance and the visuals while some criticise the soundtrack.
Unveiled on the occasion of Dussehra, the one-minute-55-second video features Yash as Ravana, depicting the demon king’s fierce devotion to Lord Shiva.
Several users on social media said the music did not match the visual impact of the sequence. One commenter said the “90s ka Rahman” would have made it truly magical, while another wrote that the visuals were impressive but the song could have been better.
Some users suggested composers Ajay-Atul or Amit Trivedi as alternatives, while others defended Rahman’s musical legacy and praised his earlier work.
The first instalment of 'Ramayana' is scheduled for release during Diwali.
