Indian Home Minister Amit Shah has asserted that the opposition Congress party will not come to power in the country for the next 30 years, stating that they are raising allegations of vote theft as an excuse for continuous defeat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader made the remarks on Thursday while inaugurating an Tk 8,941 crore project to clean the Yamuna River in Delhi on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.

Targeting Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, Amit Shah said, "Rahul and his party want to grant voting rights to infiltrators, which is why they have so many objections to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists."

The Congress-led opposition alliance "INDIA" has taken to the streets demanding the withdrawal of the SIR and the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Rahul led a protest march in Delhi on October 13, while protests by the CJP also put pressure on the central government before slowing down due to Hindu religious festivals.

Recently, the BJP released video footage claiming that Rahul was on a four-day visit to Vietnam. Referencing this, Shah remarked, "I know you cannot hear my words right now because you are sitting somewhere abroad. You never give any explanation for that, and that is fine—it is your personal life. But hear me out once you land in Delhi: you will not come to power for the next 30 years."

Addressing the allegations of vote theft, the Home Minister said, "The BJP keeps winning elections, and the opposition has a problem with that. That is precisely why they have brought up the excuse of vote theft."

Directly linking Rahul to the issue of illegal migration, Shah added, "Rahul ji, you only talk about vote theft because you want to safeguard and grant voting rights to infiltrators."

Criticizing the opposition's protests, the BJP leader said, "You cannot change people's mandates through political tactics and engineered public outrage. Elections cannot be won merely by staging protests and sit-ins."
