A Dhaka court on Monday (October 26) deferred the hearing on charge framing against former law minister Anisul Haque in an arms case to December 3, as he was taken to the International Crimes Tribunal.
Judge Elina Akter of Special Tribunal-4 fixed the new date, Public Prosecutor Zahidul Islam Kayum said.
According to the case statement, Anisul allegedly failed to surrender his licensed pistol to Banani Police Station despite a government directive requiring firearms licence holders to deposit their weapons by September 3, 2024.
Sub-Inspector Md Jane Alam Dulal of Banani Police Station filed the case. Following an investigation, Sub-Inspector Md Yadul Haque submitted a charge sheet against Anisul on August 29, 2025.
Anisul was arrested near Sadarghat in Dhaka on August 13, 2024, and remains in custody in connection with several cases.
