Delhi court issues fresh bailable warrant against Dhruv Rathee

A Delhi court has issued a fresh bailable warrant against Indian YouTuber Dhruv Rathee in a 2018 defamation case on Saturday.

Judicial Magistrate Rahul Jain issued the order following a complaint filed by Vikas Sancharyayan, also known as Vikas Pande, over a video published on Rathee's YouTube channel. The detailed court order is yet to be released.

This follows an earlier bailable warrant issued on October 17, after a process server found Rathee's residence locked, prompting the court to order fresh summons to his address in Gurugram, Haryana.

Vikas Pande's counsel, Samaksh Sharma, informed the court that Rathee generally resides in Australia but had recently traveled to India to participate in a demonstration by Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) in Delhi.

The court noted that summonses were first issued against Rathee in July 2019 regarding the defamation suit filed in 2018.
