BNP gets new Dhaka North metro unit

BNP has appointed new leaders to its Dhaka North metropolitan unit, naming Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton as convener and Dhaka-18 MP SM Jahangir Hossain as member secretary (MS).

The announcement was made in a press release signed by BNP Assistant Office Secretary Muhammad Munir Hossain on Sunday night. The party has instructed the newly appointed leaders to form a full-fledged convening committee within the next two weeks.

The appointments came more than a month after the previous 51-member convening committee, headed by Aminul Haque and Mostafa Zaman, was dissolved on September 30.

Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton is a vice-president of the central Jubo Dal committee. He previously served as member secretary of Dhaka North Jubo Dal and contested the 13th parliamentary election from Dhaka-15 as a BNP candidate.

SM Jahangir Hossain was a joint convener of the dissolved Dhaka North BNP committee. He previously served as president of Dhaka North Jubo Dal.
