Workers block Dhaka-Tangail highway by setting fire

Workers blocked the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Naojor area of Gazipur by setting fire to roadside waste on Tuesday (November 3), bringing traffic to a standstill along a key section of the highway.

The blockade began around 9:30AM in front of Diganta Sweater Factory, where workers brought waste from the roadside onto the highway and set it on fire.

As a result, vehicular movement between Joydebpur Chowrasta and Naojor intersection came to a halt. Protesters also prevented all types of vehicles, including autorickshaws and motorcycles, from passing through the road. They were seen playing cricket on the blocked highway.
