Narayanganj-2 lawmaker Nazrul Islam Azad on Thursday accused a group of people of conspiring to create unrest in the garment sector, warning that their attempts would continue to fail.
“Their conspiracies have failed, and they will continue to fail. This is the government of Tarique Rahman,” he said.
Azad, a BNP lawmaker and the party's Dhaka Divisional Joint Organising Secretary, made the remarks after visiting the BSCIC and Shibu Market industrial areas in Fatullah, Narayanganj.
“They have forgotten how the people of this country drove them out. They have no sense of shame,” he added.
Azad visited different parts of the industrial areas accompanied by local BNP leaders and activists and members of the party's affiliated organisations.
BNP leaders and activists remained present at different locations across the industrial zones from Thursday morning until the afternoon.
Law enforcement personnel were also deployed at several points and remained on high alert to prevent any untoward incident.
No untoward incident was reported in Narayanganj's industrial areas on Thursday.
