National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener and Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam on Thursday accused the BNP government of state-sponsored repression, saying violence by the Awami League was also contributing to political instability.
"The country is being destabilised by the violence perpetrated by the fascist Awami League on one hand and state-sponsored repression by the BNP on the other," he said.
Speaking to journalists before an organisational meeting in Dinajpur, Nahid alleged that the government had failed to fulfil its pre-election promises to improve law and order.
