Four-day holiday opportunity in Dec for employees

Employees in Bangladesh will have an opportunity to enjoy a four-day break in December by taking one day of leave between the Victory Day holiday and the weekend.

According to the 2026 government holiday calendar, December 16, Wednesday, will be a public holiday marking the country's Victory Day.

December 17, Thursday, will be a working day. Employees who take leave on that day can combine it with the public holiday and the following weekly holidays on Friday and Saturday, December 18 and 19, to enjoy four consecutive days off.

The extended break may offer an opportunity for employees to travel or spend time with their families towards the end of the year.

Popular destinations such as Cox's Bazar, Sylhet and Sajek may attract holidaymakers during the period.
