The government is planning to shift the country’s healthcare system from treatment-focused services to preventive care and health promotion, said Prime Minister’s Health Affairs Special Assistant SM Ziauddin Haider.
He made the remarks while speaking to journalists after exchanging views with doctors and local public representatives at Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital on Sunday afternoon.
He said the government had taken initiatives to recruit 100,000 health workers across the country and establish primary healthcare centres at the union level.
According to him, three health promotion hubs will be established under each centre to ensure access to healthcare services for rural people.
