Energy drinks banned

The government has banned production, marketing and export of all kinds of energy drinks.

The ministry of industries unanimously adopted the decision at a council meeting of Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution (BSTI) on Tuesday.

BSTI Director General Saiful Hasib raised the proposal in the meeting presided over by Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu.

The meeting also decided to take legal measures against all kinds of advertisement and publicity of the drinks.
