Police are yet to trace missing M Maroof Zaman, former Bangladesh ambassador to Qatar and Vietnam, and Syed Sadat Ahmed Sadat, managing director of ABN Group.
Members of the law enforcement agencies said they are trying to rescue Maroof and Sadat, but they have yet to find any clue to their whereabouts.
According to Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK), people disappeared from January 1 to November 30 are Awami League-1, Chhatra League-1, Juba League-1, BNP-1, Jubo Dol-1, Chhatra Dol-2, Businessman-6, Service Holder-6, Teacher-1, Professor-1, Student-4, Mason-1, Motor Mechanic-1, Bicycle mechanic-1, Easy Bike driver-1, Rickshaw-puller-1, UP member-1, Publisher-1 and unidentied-22.
Family of Naimul Islam, a senior officer of BRAC Bank, has failed to trace him since Tuesday morning, according to a report filed with Tejgaon Industrial Zone Police Station. It said Islam has gone missing after he left the capital's Shyaomli for Gulshan.
Officer-in-charge (OC) Abdur Rashid of Tejgaon Industrial Police Station, said, "We found that Islam owed money to many people. He used to lend money for his businesses. Our investigation focuses on this."
Maroof left his house in Dhanmondi on December 4 to pick up his daughter Samiha Zaman from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. "We are trying our best to rescue him, but we are not getting any clue," Officer-in-Charge Abdul Latif of Dhanmondi Police Station said.
On the evening of December 4, Maroof called his home from an unidentified land phone number to inform the domestic help that some people would go the house to retrieve his computer, and instructed them to cooperate.
Three men, described as tall and well-dressed, visited his house around 20 minutes later and took away his laptop, home computer, camera, and spare smartphone. They also thoroughly searched his room.
Maroof's phone has been found switched off since then. His family filed a general diary with Dhanmondi police the next day. Police recovered his private car in an abandoned state from Khilkhet the same evening. The vehicle did not have any sign of forced entry. Locals said they had seen the car since the morning.
Maroof has served as a counsellor at Bangladesh High Commission in the UK. The former Foreign Ministry additional secretary is a retired Bangladesh Army captain of the Signal Corps (6th Short Course).

A Bangladeshi youth, who is a student of a university in Canada, has remained "traceless" from Dhanmondi of Dhaka since August 26. Family members suspected that Ishrak Ahmed Fahim, 19, a student of Computer Science and Engineering in McGill University, was abducted by some unknown persons when he was returning to his Dhanmondi house. Family filed a missing diary with Dhanmondi Police Station on august 27.
