2 BNP activists hurt in post-polls violence

At least two BNP activists, including a woman, were injured in a post- UP election violence in Dhopakhali village of Monohorpur union in Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district on Friday night.

Locals said the supporters of newly elected pro-Awami League chairman Sohrab Uddin Suruddin attacked the houses and business establishments of BNP activists at Dhpakhali village around 7pm, reports UNB.

The attackers vandalised the houses of the BNP supporters and the business establishments.

Two BNP supporters--Shahida Khatun, 33, wife of BNP activist Mizanur Rahman and Badsa Miah, 30-were injured in the attack.

The by-polls to six municipalities and 37 Union Parishads of different districts across the country were held on December 28.
