BGB recover firearm, bullets in Rajshahi

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive recovered a firearm, bullets and phensedyl syrup from Paba upazila of Rajshahi on Saturday night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB-1 conducted a drive in Purba Bathanmari area and challenged a group of smugglers around 1am, said Commanding Officer of BGB-1 Lt Col Mohamamd Tajul Islam.

But, the gang managed to flee the scene leaving behind the a firearm and contraband items.

Later, a pistol, five bullets, two magazines and 100 bottles of phensedyl syrup were recovered from the spot, the official added.
