Throat-slit body of 'mentally challenged' woman recovered

Police on Tuesday afternoon recovered the throat-slit body of a 'mentally ill' woman from her bed room in Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi district.

Deceased Julekha Begum, 42, was a resident of Durgapur village. She was mentally disabled, family claimed.

Quoting family members, Mohanpur Police Station inspector Afzal Hossain said the woman committed suicide by cutting her neck with blade around 6:00am.

The body was sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue.

Brother of the deceased filed an unnatural death case with the police station.
