Four killed by lightning strikes in Rajshahi

Four people were killed in separate incidents of lightning strikes in Bagha, Godagari and Sadar upazila upazilas of Rajshahi on Thursday night.

Godagari Model Police Station officer in-charge Jahangir Alam said lightning strikes killed a man while he was returning home from work.

The deceased was identified as Jamshed Ali, 55, a resident of Basudebpur village in Godagari upazila.

Meanwhile, lightning killed three persons while they were collecting mangoes in different orchards near their houses.

The deceased were Moni, 13, son of Md Kamal of Kapasia area in Sadar upazila, Musaul Haque, 15, son of Abul Hossain of Sarangpur Policepara village in Godagari upazila, and Mohammad Bacha Hossain, 28, son of Soleman Hossain of Fatepur Bausa village in Bagha upazila.

The incidents took place between 10.00pm to 11.00pm on that day.
