Police recovered the bodies of two women from Mohanpur upazila of Rajshahi district on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Asma Begum, 40, wife of Babul Islam, of Oshayer Hat village, and Anowara Begum, 48, wife of Md Bulbullah, of Durgapur village in the upazila.
Two children spotted the body of Asma in Padma Bil in the morning, said Mohanpur Police Station officer-in-charge Mostak Ahmed. Being informed, police recovered the body from the spot at noon.
Injury marks were found on the deceased’s body.
In Durgapur village, police recovered the hanging body of Anowara from her home at noon. She might have been committed suicide at any time on Friday night.
Mohanpur Police Station inspector Afzal Hossain confirmed the matter.
The bodies were sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) morgue for autopsy.
