Police on Saturday night seized a bus over severing of the arm of college student Firoz Sarder in a road accident in Rajshahi.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police spokesperson Golam Ruhul Quddus said a team of police seized the bus of ‘Mohammad Paribahan’ from Shiroil Bus Terminal in the city on Saturday night. The bus usually parks at Nawdapara Bus Terminal. but after the accident it was parked at the terminal to avoid seizure.
The bus driver and his helper went into hiding following the accident.
Katakhali Police
Station officer-in-charge Nibaran Chandra Barman said after watching the CCTV footage, they identified the bus driver as Faruk of Puthia .
Meanwhile, the victim’s father lodged a case with Katakhali Police Station on Saturday.
On Friday, Firoz Sardar, a masters student of Rajshahi College, was sitting in the bus dangling his right arm from the window. At one stage, another vehicle, coming from behind hit it, severing his hand from elbow in Katakhali area of the city.
He has been undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
