Drug addict man 'kills mother'

A woman was reportedly beaten to death by her drug addict son in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi on Sunday night.

Deceased Selina Begum, 50, was a resident of Arijpur in the upazila.

Godagari Police Station officer in-charge Jahangir Alam said accused Abdus Salek, 30, beat up his mother to death at night as she refused to give him money for buying drugs.

Salek fled home after the murder, he added.

Police recovered the body from the spot.
