3 held with fake Indian currency

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained three people alongwith fake Indian currency worth 10 lakh Rupee in Boubazar area of Rajshahi city on Sunday.

The detainees are: Rubel Hossain, a student of  Godagari Degree College, Mosaddek Hossain  from Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj, and Jahangir Hossain from Natore district.

RAB-5 acting commander Sayeed Abdullah Al Murad said on secret information, a team of RAB conducted a drive at the house of one Nuru Mia's in Boubazar area and detained them.

The elite force also seized fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 10 lakh and fake currency-making equipment from the spot.

Murad said Rubel had earlier been arrested with Rs one crore in Chapainawabganj in 2018. He secured bail two months ago and started fraudence again at a rented house in the city. They were making fake Rupees ahead of Eid-ul- Azha, the official added.
