Police arrested seven people, including an Indian citizen, with phensedyl syrup in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi district on Wednesday night.
The arrested persons are: Hamidul Islam, 32, Hafizul Islam, 38, his son Jhoni Ahmed, 18, Masud Rana, 32, Indian citizen Habibur Rahman, 38, Tara Begum, 37, wife of one Habibur Rahman, a resident of Baneshwar area in Puthia upazila, and microbus driver Saju, 38.
Meanwhile, Tara Begum's husband Habibur Rahman, 47, who is beleaved to be a drug lord, managed to flee the scene
On secret information, a team of law enforcers, led by ASP Nurul Alam and Bagha Police Station officer-in-charge Abdul Wahab, conducted a drive at drug trader Hamidul Islam's house at Alaipur Kandipara village around 11:00 pm and nabbed the accused from there.

ASP Alam said police also recovered 600 bottles of the contraband cough syrup and seized a micro-bus and a motorcycle from the spot.
A case was filed against them with Bagha Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
They were sent to jail on Thursday following a court order, the ASP added.
