Man 'commits suicide' in Rajshahi

A man reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Godagari upazila of Rajshahi district on Tuesday morning.

Deceased Mainul Islam was the son of Abdus Sattar, a resident of Amtuli Hothatpara village in the upazila.

Locals saw Mainul hanging with a rope from a tree in the village and informed family members.

Later, family members brought the body to their house.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue.  
 
Police assumed that Mainul might have committed suicide following a family feud over an extramarital affair, said Jahangir Alam, officer in-charge of  Godagari Model Police Station.

An unnatural death (UD) case was filed with the police station in this regard, the OC added
