Girl dies from snakebite

A girl died from snakebite in Bagha upazila of Rajshahi district early Wednesday.

Deceased Jamy Khatun, 13, was the daughter of Anar Sheikh, a resident of Keshabpur village under Pakuria union in the upazila. She was the seventh grader at a local school.

Deceased's mother Shahnaz Begum said a snake bit Jamy while sleeping, leaving her critically injured.

Jamy was rushed to Bagha Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor referred her to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital(RMCH)

Later, she died on way to RMCH.

Bagha Police Station OC Nazrul Islam confirmed the matter.
