Man held for rape attempt on stepdaughter

Police on Friday arrested a 50-year-old man on charge of attempting to rape his stepdaughter in Rajshahi city.

Earlier, the victim, 25, filed a case against arrested Azim Uddin Kachu of Talaimari Badurtala area in the city in this connection, said Motihar Police Station officer in-charge Hafizur Rahman.

According to the case statement, the rape incident took place at night on August 19.

However, Azim was sent to jail following a court order, OC Hafizur added.
