8th grader killed ‘by classmate’

An eighth grader was stabbed to death allegedly by his classmate at Kashiadanga Aduburipara in Rajshahi city on Thursday night.

Deceased Imon Hossain, 14, was a student of Yusep Momena Bongsho School. He was the son of Abdus Salam of the area.

Kashiadanga Police Station officer-in-charge Mansur Ali said Imon locked into an altercation with his classmate Hridoy while having tiffin in the afternoon.

At one stage, Hridoy hit Imon with a knife, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 8:30 pm.

Police arrested Hridoy, the official added.
