15 hurt in motor labour polls violence

At least 15 people were injured in a clash between two groups of people during Motor Labour election in Rajshahi on Friday afternoon.

Vottin started at Nice Convention Center in Pathanpara area of the municipality at 8:00am.

Followers of Mahatab Hossain, general secretary candidate, clashed with ones of Mominul Islam Momin, another candidate for the post, over standing in a queue of voters in front of election booth.

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and charged baton on the men of both groups to bring situation under control.

Additional police were deployed to spot to avert further clash, said Boalia Model Police Station office in-charge Nibaran Chandra Barman.
