2 ABT members held in Rajshahi

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained two suspected members of militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) from Godagari upazila of Rajshahi early Tuesday.

The detainees are: Shahidul Islam, 39, from Rupsha upazila of Khulna, and  Jewel Molla, from Fakirhat upazila of Bagerhat. They are active activists of the ABT, RAB said.

On information that some members of the ABT were holding a clandestine meeting, a team of the elite force raided an under construction building at Matikata Adarsha Degree college and nabbed the duo. The others, however, managed to flee the scene, said RAB-5 commander ATM Mainul Islam.
