Youth held with 3.8 kgs hemp

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive detained a young man alongwith hemp in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi on Tuesday night.

Detainee Ali Raj Islam, 29, is a resident of Pashchimpara village in Sadar upazila of Natore.

A team of the RAB-5 nabbed Ali from Boro Senbag area and recovered 3.8 kilograms of hemp from his possession, said Puthia Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Rezaul Karim.

A case was filed under the Narcotics Control Act.

Ali was sent to jail on Wednesday afternoon following a court order, the OC added.
