JaPa's Ranga defeated by independent candidate Bablu

Awami League affiliated independent candidate for Rangpur-1 constituency Asaduzzaman Bablu unofficially won the race defeating former Jatiya Party secretary general Mashiur Rahman (Ranga) by a huge margin.

Mashiur Rahman also contested as an independent candidate in the election.

Gangachara Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Nahid Tamanna announced the unofficial results on Sunday night.

In this result, Asaduzzaman Bablu won 73, 927 votes where his nearest rival independent candidate Mashiur Rahman Ranga got 24, 332 votes.

The total number of voters in this constituency is 3, 32, 219. A total of 35 percent of the votes were cast in the constituency.
